To reiterate what I understand from Hansβ interviews. It appears to me that chess.com was buying Chessable from Magnus Carlson when Magnus had his fit of petulance against Hans. Chess.com then may have bent over backwards to please Magnus in order to stop Magnus cancelling the deal. In my own view possibly to stop Magnus starting a rival chess site that could outcompete chess.com. π°π°π°π° Or am I wrong?

Magnus already owned a rival chess site (Chess24) but yeah CC clearly wanted to keep Magnus happy and get the deal to buy the Play Magnus Group done, so CC were never going to rock the boat. Getting the #1 ranked Chess player in the world on to their site was the main goal.
